New Orleans Pelicans Money Line (+136)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to Score 35+ Points (+175)
Same Game Parlay odds: +636
New Orleans Pelicans Money Line (+136)
It promises to be an exciting encounter between two evenly matched teams. I would give a slight edge to the Pelicans here, as they are equipped with more offensive talent in my opinion. They also won 3 of the 4 regular season meetings last year, including both played in Oklahoma City which is encouraging. The Thunder are yet to figure out Zion Williamson who has played really well against them in the last 5 meetings averaging 24.6 points per Game on almost 60% shooting. Chet Holmgren’s thin frame is no match for the strength and size of Zion, so look for him to dominate on the inside. Following the 28-point home loss to the Warriors, the Pelicans will want to make amends here. They’ve won 5 of the last 6 meetings at the Paycom Center and after seeing OKC get trounced by the Nuggets in their home opener on Sunday I am just not feeling them right now.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to Score 35+ Points (+175)
SGA scored just 7 points in that defeat to Denver, but he did bounce back with 32 the following game against the Detroit Pistons. It was already his 3rd game of 30+ points in 4 outings this season, which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering he is just 1 of only 11 players in the NBA currently averaging 20 or more field goal attempts per game. Everything goes through Shai on offense for the Thunder, especially in games against the Pelicans where he’s averaging 33.2 points a night in the last 5 meetings. Of those 33.2 points, 10.4 per game are coming from the charity stripe where he’s shooting 91.2%. I think it’s time for a new season high for SGA here, too bad for Thunder fans it will come in a loss.
