What is the record for scoring in an NBA All-Star game, and how many points were scored?

Image
The NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night was one for the books. Although it lacked competition, it broke multiple records, including the most points in the game’s 73-year history. The Eastern Conference dominated the Western Conference, winning 211-186 . The previous record of 196 was set by the West in 2016. Damian Lillard, the point guard for the Milwaukee Bucks, won the All-Star MVP award, scoring an impressive 39 points. The total combined points of both teams, 397, smashed the previous record of 374 set in 2017. The East made 42 3-pointers, breaking the mark of 35 set by Team LeBron in 2019. The two teams combined for 193 points in the first half, breaking the any-half record of 191 set last year, and the East tied an any-half record by scoring 104 by intermission. His total score after the game was 38,390 points , surpassing the previous record holder, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar , who had scored 38,387 points while playing for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Lakers over a 20-year career from 1969 to 1989. The 29 rebound s were a career-high.  Zubac also added three blocks and three assists to his stat line, while shooting an impressive 14-of-17 from the floor. In the process, the big man became the first player to tally 30 points and 25 rebound s in a game while shooting at least 80 percent from the field since Shaquille O'Neal in 2004, per ESPN. LeBron James leads Lakers to huge comeback vs. Blazers with 37 points, now 224 shy of all-time record

The Lakers rallied from a 25-point halftime deficit to beat the Blazers on Sunday, marking the NBA's biggest second-half comeback this season and matched the largest second-half comeback of LeBron James' regular-season career.  James was no small part of the rally. He had 17 of his 37 points in the third quarter, by the end of which the Lakers had trimmed that 25-point deficit to just five.  With the 37 points , James moves even closer to becoming the NBA 's all -time leading scorer, a distinction currently held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. You can see below where James' pursuit of Jabbar's mark stands.  ALL-TIME SCORING LEADER CAREER POINTS POINTS TO PASS Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 38,387 ___ LeBron James 38,164 224 For the season, James is averaging 29.8 points per game. Lauri Markkanen's career-high 49 points in Jazz's win over Rockets the latest entry in NBA scoring binge

Image
The last time Lauri Markkanen was on the floor he was  a split-second away from delivering a truly remarkable buzzer-beater . Having apparently learned his lesson, he made sure not to leave anything to chance on Thursday night against the Houston Rockets.  Markkanen scored 18 points in the first quarter to help the Utah Jazz get out to an early lead, and neither he nor the team ever looked back. He finished with a career -high 49 points and eight rebounds on 15 of 27 from the field as the Jazz snapped a five- Game losing streak with a 131-114 win over the Rockets.  This was a truly complete offensive showing from Markkanen, who did a little bit of everything against a Rockets defense that, it must be said, was not always providing that much resistance. He knocked down six 3-pointers, threw down five dunks, hit some tough looks in the mid-range and was a perfect 13 of 13 from the free throw line.  ...

Warriors' Jordan Poole does his best Steph Curry impersonation with career-high 43 points in win over Raptors

With Steph Curry set to miss the next month or so with a shoulder injury , everyone on the Golden State Warriors will have to step up in his absence, but especially Jordan Poole. The young guard did just that on Sunday, leading the Warriors to a much-needed 126-110 win over the Toronto Raptors. Poole finished with a career-high 43 points on 14-of-23 from the field and 5-of-11 from 3-point land, and added six assists in 34 minutes. After 15 career 30-point outings, Poole finally reached the 40-point mark for the first time.  A career night for Jordan Poole in the Golden State win. 43 PTS ( career-high ) 6 AST 5 3PM pic.twitter.com/GkaSOCNuJO — NBA (@NBA) December 19, 2022 "He's played a lot of great Game s for us," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said. Raptors snap Knicks' eight-game winning streak behind Pascal Siakam's career-high 52 points

Before the season, a Toronto Raptors victory over the New York Knicks hardly would have qualified as news. The Knicks were coming off of a lottery season. The Raptors looked like an ascending contender. But based on just the last several weeks? Toronto's 113-106 victory over New York at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night qualifies as one of the season's bigger upsets. The Knicks, behind Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle, had won eight straight games entering the contest. The Raptors, feeling the weight of their limited depth and starting to hear trade rumors involving their best players, had lost six in a row. But those few valuable Raptors were more than enough on Wednesday as Toronto snapped New York's league-best active winning streak behind one of the more lopsided performances within a single team you'll ever see. Three Raptors combined to score 95 of Toronto's 113 points . Unsurprisingl...
