LA Lakers Over 46.5 Wins (-106) I must says I’m slightly surprised by this line considering how the Lakers rallied towards the end of last season and into the Playoffs. Sure, they got swept by the Denver Nuggets in the Conference Finals, but this is a regular season bet and I am all over the over. If you remember, things didn’t start off well last year with LA going 1-10 to start the season and being hailed as one of the most d...

Marcus Smart is the most significant departure from Joe Mazzulla’s roster, but that has been more than compensated with the savvy veteran Jrue Holiday coming over from the Portland Trail Blazers. Kristaps Porzingis is another key addition, he has already shown signs of promi...

With the summer break providing an opportunity for rest and recovery, the Mavericks are again focused on be...

Why next stretch on Lakers' schedule will make or break their season after impressive win vs. Nets

Darvin Ham used Sunday's post-game press conference to settle a debate that has been raging between him and the media throughout the season. "Irregardless is a word," Ham joked after the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Brooklyn Nets 116-103. "I Googled it. You say it's not. It's in Google and it actually has an example of how it's used. See the fun things we get to talk about when we win?" It was a far cry from the dour mood that followed Friday's loss to the Sacramento Kings. As Anthony Davis described it, "The energy around our locker room feels like 2-10." Of course, that much was evident on Thursday, when Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes suggested that the front office's inaction "could prompt key players to sour on the direction of the franchise."  Davis is one of those key players. His 37-point explosion against Brooklyn led to Sunday's wi...

Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson Jr. to make season debut Tuesday night vs. Pelicans, per report

The Memphis Grizzlies are getting some frontcourt reinforcements soon, as big man Jaren Jackson Jr. is expected to make his season debut on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans, per Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes. Jackson had surgery in June to repair a stress fracture in his foot and has been recovering since then. Adding him to a Memphis team that is already off to a 9-5 start will only improve this team, but given that Jackson hasn't had any real game action since last season 's playoffs, it wouldn't be surprising to see him take some time to get re-acclimated. The last time we saw Jackson, he was averaging 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and a league-leading 2.3 blocks per game. He's one of the best defensive big men in the league, and finished last season as a Defensive Player of the Year finalist, as well as being named to the All-Defensive First Team. The Grizzlies are just better on de...

Warriors might've saved their season vs. Pelicans with a second-half surge that felt like old times

Technically speaking, Tuesday's game vs. the New Orleans Pelicans was not a must-win game for the Golden State Warriors. But it felt about as close as you can get to that with this virtually inseparable Western Conference playoff/play-in race steaming toward a photo finish.  After letting a major swing Game get away from them against Minnesota on Sunday, Golden State sat perilously in the No. 7 seed. Another loss would've left them just one more loss from falling out of the play-in and into the lottery with five Game s to play.  Down 17 at halftime, it didn't look good.  Up 11 at the final buzzer, it looked (and felt) a whole lot better.  Warriors 120, Pelicans 109.  The Warriors, who for the moment move up to the 6-seed (tied in the loss column with the No. 7 Wolves), couldn't do anything right in the first half. And New Orleans looked like a team, on both ends, that could pose a serious post sea...

Magic's Markelle Fultz to make season debut on Wednesday vs. Hawks, per report

Former No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz has been cleared to make his season debut for the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night against the Atlanta Hawks, according to the Orlando Sentinel . Fultz has not played yet this season due to a fractured toe he suffered during a pre season workout.  Injuries have been a consistent problem for Fultz ever since he entered the league. Now set to begin his sixth season , he has still only played 139 career games between the regular season and playoffs. There was a strange shoulder issue during his rookie season with the Philadelphia 76ers that affected his shooting motion and confidence, and ultimately derailed his tenure with the club. A torn ACL in January of 2021 caused him to miss the majority of both the 2020-21 and 2021-22 season s.  Now, this fractured toe has held him out of the opening 21 games of this campaign. His return will be a boost to a Magic team that has b...

Kevin Durant injury update: Suns fear star could miss rest of regular season with ankle sprain, per report

Kevin Durant, who has played just three games for the Phoenix Suns thus far, was a late scratch for Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to an injury suffered during a pregame workout. Though there has been no official update to Durant's status, The Arizona Republic is reporting that there is fear within the Suns organization that the superstar forward could be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season and the start of the playoffs with a Grade 2 ankle sprain. Durant is still set to undergo an MRI on Thursday to determine the severity of the injury . Video of the injury shows Durant warming up before Phoenix's Game against the Thunder, in which he slips on the floor and tweaks his left ankle while going toward the basket for a layup. Here’s video of Kevin Durant slipping on the floor pregame. He stayed down for a few seconds but then got up and finished his ...
