Maxi Kleber injury update: Mavericks forward out indefinitely with hamstring tear

After a 15-point loss at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers Wednesday night, the Dallas Mavericks are back to being a .500 team with a 14-14 record. To make matters worse, the team announced Thursday that forward Maxi Kleber will be out indefinitely with a right hamstring tear. This is a significant blow to a Mavericks roster that is already thin in depth, especially in the frontcourt.  Kleber provides the Mavericks with floor spacing as a 6-10 big who can knock down 3s at a consistent clip. But even more so, Kleber is one of Dallas' best defenders, and without him in the rotation, the Mavs' already lackluster defense will suffer even more. With Kleber sidelined for what could potentially be between 6-8 weeks, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the Mavericks are going to have to rely on Dwight Powell and Christian Wood even more. Zion Williamson injury: Pelicans star strains hamstring in third quarter of loss to 76ers

New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson sustained a strained right hamstring in the third quarter of Monday's 120-111 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers . He came up limping at the end of the third quarter and was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the Game . Pelicans coach Willie Green did not have an update on Williamson after the Game , but said that a thorough exam would be done to determine the extent of the injury . Durability has been a major concern for Williamson throughout his career, but this season he had largely been able to stay healthy. He has missed only eight of the team's 37 games has thus far, and has played at an All-NBA level while on the floor. He is averaging 26 points per game this season for a stellar Pelicans offense, and had 26 points on 10-of-12 shooting against the 76ers before getting hurt.
