What is the record for scoring in an NBA All-Star game, and how many points were scored?

The NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night was one for the books. Although it lacked competition, it broke multiple records, including the most points in the game’s 73-year history. The Eastern Conference dominated the Western Conference, winning 211-186 . The previous record of 196 was set by the West in 2016. Damian Lillard, the point guard for the Milwaukee Bucks, won the All-Star MVP award, scoring an impressive 39 points. The total combined points of both teams, 397, smashed the previous record of 374 set in 2017. The East made 42 3-pointers, breaking the mark of 35 set by Team LeBron in 2019. The two teams combined for 193 points in the first half, breaking the any-half record of 191 set last year, and the East tied an any-half record by scoring 104 by intermission. Lauri Markkanen's career-high 49 points in Jazz's win over Rockets the latest entry in NBA scoring binge

The last time Lauri Markkanen was on the floor he was  a split-second away from delivering a truly remarkable buzzer-beater . Having apparently learned his lesson, he made sure not to leave anything to chance on Thursday night against the Houston Rockets.  Markkanen scored 18 points in the first quarter to help the Utah Jazz get out to an early lead, and neither he nor the team ever looked back. He finished with a career -high 49 points and eight rebounds on 15 of 27 from the field as the Jazz snapped a five- Game losing streak with a 131-114 win over the Rockets.  This was a truly complete offensive showing from Markkanen, who did a little bit of everything against a Rockets defense that, it must be said, was not always providing that much resistance. He knocked down six 3-pointers, threw down five dunks, hit some tough looks in the mid-range and was a perfect 13 of 13 from the free throw line.  ...
