Image
Jadon Sancho wants to rejoin Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window following his recent fall out with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, 90min understands. Sancho joined United from the Bundesliga club in 2021, but his career has failed to take off at Old Trafford in the two years since his £73m transfer . The 23-year-old has barely featured for United this season and was dropped from the squad completely for last month's 3-1 defeat at Arsenal. Ten Hag said following the Game that Sancho's performances in training had led to him being left out of the Travel ling party to London, though the 23-year-old later responded on social media saying he "would not allow people to say things that are untrue" and that he had been "made a scapegoat for too long". Sancho was subsequently excluded from first team training and remains so at this point, with some sources suggesting the relationship between Ten Hag and the player is beyond repair. An apolo...

Kieran Tierney addresses rumours of rift with Mikel Arteta at Arsenal

Kieran Tierney has denied rumours a clash with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta led to his move away from the club this summer. The Scotland left-back has joined Real Sociedad on a season-long loan deal after a campaign which yielded just six Premier League starts under Arteta, who preferred Oleksandr Zinchenko and January signing Jakub Kiwior in his position. Despite growing frustrated with his limited minutes, Tierney insisted he left Arsenal on good terms. "I left because last season I couldn't play a lot and what I wanted was to play a lot of Game s and I wanted to try to do it at Real," he told reporters. "I don't have any problem with Arsenal. "Knowing that Real wanted to have me here, feeling all the love from the people here was very good. Being in the Basque Country, having the experience of living here and playing in La Liga, is something I am very proud of. I hope things will go very well for me here." Man Utd's best and worst players from disappointing Tottenham defeat

Image
Manchester United's shaky start to the 2023/24 season continued on Saturday with a 2-0 loss at Tottenham Hotspur. The Red Devils rode their luck a little to see off Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night at Old Trafford, but that fortune dried up and ran out in north London. Erik ten Hag's men were wasteful, particularly in the first half, while they were denied a penalty despite Cristian Romero appearing to handle the ball in the penalty area. Once Spurs took the lead through Pape Matar Sarr shortly after half-time, Man Utd struggled to maintain their upward trajectory. The Game was settled once Lisandro Martinez rolled the ball beyond his own goalkeeper in Andre Onana and into his own net. Here were Man Utd's best and worst performers, courtesy of 90min's full player ratings. How Chelsea could line up with Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo

Image
It's only taken a pair of British record transfer fees, but it looks like Chelsea may finally have a functional midfield again. While optimism was rife heading into the new season with Mauricio Pochettino at the helm, concerns were widespread about the lack of options in the Blues' engine room. Thus, Pochettino was forced to go bold in pre-season as Conor Gallagher was deployed in a deeper position, and while the England international performed well in the unfamiliar role, it was never going to be a long-term option. In the wake of their opening day draw with Liverpool, Chelsea moved quickly to wrap up the £115m signing of Moises Caicedo from Brighton. Now, the west London club are hoping to secure the services of Romeo Lavia, who's rejected a move to Anfield in favour of Stamford Bridge. Lavia starred in the top flight last season, and here's how he and Caicedo could fit in together within Pochettino's framework. Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia as a double pivot Rom...

Christian Eriksen explains role in Rasmus Hojlund's move to Man Utd

Christian Eriksen has insisted new Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund will offer something unique to the team after his £72m move from Atalanta. The 20-year-old was selected as Erik ten Hag's preferred striker target after a fascinating breakout campaign with Atalanta that saw Hojlund bag nine goals in 32 Game s as he found his feet in one of Europe's major leagues. On the international stage, Hojlund has six goals in six appearances for Denmark, lining up alongside new United teammate Eriksen - the man he jokingly nicknamed 'Agent Christian' thanks to the pair's conversations about life at Old Trafford. "He hasn't paid me yet so I don't know where he gets that 'agent' from! I haven't had any fee yet!" Eriksen laughed to MUTV .
