What was the selling price of Wembanyama’s NBA debut jersey? Why is its sale significant for both the NBA and Sotheby’s?

The jersey French basketball player Victor Wembanyama wore during his NBA debut against the Dallas Mavericks was sold for $762,000 at Sotheby’s auction house . Wembanyama wore the mentioned jersey in his debut in the NBA league against Dallas on October 25, and the initial price was 80,000 dollars. Wembanyama’s jersey became automatically the most expensive worn in the debut match. According to the American media, the cooperation between the NBA League and the auction house Sotheby’s began with this auction. Sotheby’s and the NBA will be hosting several auctions during the 2023-2024 NBA season. These auctions will feature your favorite player jersey s that are Game -worn and straight off the court . As part of this partnership, you can purchase one-of-a-kind products, including jersey s from the Kia NBA Tip-Off, NBA All-Star Game , and NBA Finals. When will James Harden debut for the Clippers?

James Harden got his wish for the Philadelphia Sixers to trade him to the Los Angeles Clippers, and it looks like he could be in attendance as early as tonight’s (Tuesday) Game against the Orlando Magic. The deal is still waiting on some final details, so of course, he would not be able to play just yet. There are still details about a third team joining the deal for a first-round pick from the Sixers that has not yet been revealed. Once those details are finalized, a trade call will happen with the league office and the players will undergo medical testing. All of that will take some time, so Harden playing tonight is highly unlikely. All of us waiting for the James Harden trade details pic.twitter.com/7KcLaKfwYb — Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) October 31, 2023 He could, however, play tomorrow (Wednesday) when the Clippers play the Lakers. That is still quite soon, but not impossible, though it’s probable that the Clippers will want to take their time getting Harden up to ...

Indiana Jones’ box office destiny? A lukewarm $60 million debut in North America

Moviegoers were only moderately interested in going to the theater to say goodbye to Harrison Ford’s archaeologist character in “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.” Indiana Jones, and executives at the Walt Disney Co. and Lucasfilm, made a somewhat dispiriting discovery this weekend. Moviegoers didn't rush to the theater in significant numbers to see “ Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" and say goodbye to Harrison Ford as the iconic archaeologist. The film, reportedly budgeted north of $250 million , came in on the lower end of projections with $60 million in ticket sales from 4,600 North American theaters, according to studio estimates Sunday. Including $70 million from international showings in 52 markets, “Dial of Destiny” celebrated a $130 million global opening. It easily earned the No. 1 title but was not the high-rolling sendoff for one of modern cinema’s most iconic actor/character pairings that anyone hoped. Disney is projecting that it will make $82 millio...

Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson Jr. to make season debut Tuesday night vs. Pelicans, per report

The Memphis Grizzlies are getting some frontcourt reinforcements soon, as big man Jaren Jackson Jr. is expected to make his season debut on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans, per Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes. Jackson had surgery in June to repair a stress fracture in his foot and has been recovering since then. Adding him to a Memphis team that is already off to a 9-5 start will only improve this team, but given that Jackson hasn't had any real game action since last season 's playoffs, it wouldn't be surprising to see him take some time to get re-acclimated. The last time we saw Jackson, he was averaging 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and a league-leading 2.3 blocks per game. He's one of the best defensive big men in the league, and finished last season as a Defensive Player of the Year finalist, as well as being named to the All-Defensive First Team. The Grizzlies are just better on de...

Magic's Markelle Fultz to make season debut on Wednesday vs. Hawks, per report

Former No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz has been cleared to make his season debut for the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night against the Atlanta Hawks, according to the Orlando Sentinel . Fultz has not played yet this season due to a fractured toe he suffered during a pre season workout.  Injuries have been a consistent problem for Fultz ever since he entered the league. Now set to begin his sixth season , he has still only played 139 career games between the regular season and playoffs. There was a strange shoulder issue during his rookie season with the Philadelphia 76ers that affected his shooting motion and confidence, and ultimately derailed his tenure with the club. A torn ACL in January of 2021 caused him to miss the majority of both the 2020-21 and 2021-22 season s.  Now, this fractured toe has held him out of the opening 21 games of this campaign. His return will be a boost to a Magic team that has b...
