Kieran Tierney addresses rumours of rift with Mikel Arteta at Arsenal

Kieran Tierney has denied rumours a clash with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta led to his move away from the club this summer. The Scotland left-back has joined Real Sociedad on a season-long loan deal after a campaign which yielded just six Premier League starts under Arteta, who preferred Oleksandr Zinchenko and January signing Jakub Kiwior in his position. Despite growing frustrated with his limited minutes, Tierney insisted he left Arsenal on good terms. "I left because last season I couldn't play a lot and what I wanted was to play a lot of Game s and I wanted to try to do it at Real," he told reporters. "I don't have any problem with Arsenal. "Knowing that Real wanted to have me here, feeling all the love from the people here was very good. Being in the Basque Country, having the experience of living here and playing in La Liga, is something I am very proud of. I hope things will go very well for me here." Former Trump health adviser believes current COVID response is falling behind

Image
Late last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention signaled it expects to have the updated COVID vaccine available by mid-September, along with a likely recommendation that everyone should get the latest booster shot, according to U.S. Health officials. The announcement comes as COVID hospitalizations increased for the sixth consecutive week, according to CDC data released Monday. For the week ending Aug. 19, hospitalizations rose by 18.8% to 15,067 – similar to levels seen in April. Still, COVID metrics remain at historic lows, public experts have said. But at least one expert is urging the country to take COVID more seriously – Dr. Deborah Birx, who served as the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator under former President Donald Trump. Birx spoke to ABC News’ podcast “START HERE” about why she says the government is living in “a bit of a fantasy world" when it comes to the COVID-19 response . Birx also explains why she believes that the next month's vacc...

Aymeric Laporte confirms Man City exit ahead of Al Nassr transfer

Aymeric Laporte has bid farewell to Manchester City ahead of his impending move to Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr, where he will link up with ex- Premier League players Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and Alex Telles. Al Nassr made an offer for Laporte earlier this month, as reported by 90min , and were hoping to convince the Spain international to join them. He had been assessing his options before committing to anyone and Aston Villa also retained their interest in a transfer . In what has been a growing trend, Laporte took to social media on Wednesday evening to personally confirm his departure in an address to City fans. "It has lasted for five and a half unforgettable years. Plenty of memories that I will keep forever close to my heart," he posted alongside a video. Man Utd's best and worst players from disappointing Tottenham defeat

Image
Manchester United's shaky start to the 2023/24 season continued on Saturday with a 2-0 loss at Tottenham Hotspur. The Red Devils rode their luck a little to see off Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night at Old Trafford, but that fortune dried up and ran out in north London. Erik ten Hag's men were wasteful, particularly in the first half, while they were denied a penalty despite Cristian Romero appearing to handle the ball in the penalty area. Once Spurs took the lead through Pape Matar Sarr shortly after half-time, Man Utd struggled to maintain their upward trajectory. The Game was settled once Lisandro Martinez rolled the ball beyond his own goalkeeper in Andre Onana and into his own net. Here were Man Utd's best and worst performers, courtesy of 90min's full player ratings.
